Concord Historical Society Time Capsule Committee News

The Concord Historical Society’s Time Capsule Committee, chaired by Rebecca Lougee, Merrimack County Savings Bank, has been charged with unearthing the 1965 Time Capsule sited at City Plaza, Downtown Concord; research and select content to be placed in the 2015 time capsule and burying the same. The 1965 Time Capsule was unearthed on June 6, 2014. Mayor Jim Bouley, Jim Milliken, Chair of the Concord Historical Society and Brent Todd, Chair of the 250 Celebration Committee lifted the time capsule, encased in a wooden box, from the ground and escorted it to Merrimack County Savings where it resides for viewing. On June 7, 2015, the Time Capsule will be opened and the contents revealed. During the next few months the committee is collecting suggestions from the community as to what should be considered as content for the 2015 Time Capsule. Electronics, videos, objects of popular life, oral histories, documents and art are some of the items being considered. What do you think should be placed in the 2015 Time Capsule?

Please email TimeCapsule@concordhistoricalsociety.org with your ideas by May 15, 2015. We would love to hear from you.
